Many countries are now starting to phase out the use of coal for power generation and replacing it with natural gas, which is now quite abundant and relatively cheap. Its harder to replace oil with natural gas as most oil is used for transportation (as gasoline) and although there are some natural gas vehicles, they are not widespread right now.
