#(cancel(3)(5w-8))/cancel(3) = 3(4w + 2) #

hence 3(4w + 2 ) = 5w - 8

so 12w + 6 = 5w - 8

subtract 5w from both sides : 12w + 6 - 5w = 5w - 8 - 5w
7w + 6 = - 8

subtract 6 from both sides : 7w + 6 - 6 = - 8 - 6
7w = - 14

finally divide both sides by 7
