It was one of the four Khanates (Genghis Khan divided up the Mongol land among his four sons into Khanates).

Explanation:

This was the chunk of land in Russia. They were able to spread a lot because their superior horsemanship helped them conquer the Russian plains. They overran Poland and Germany as well.

Because it amassed so much land, many places were linked in trade as they had never been before. They allowed the conquered people to practice their own religion and didn't force them to practice Shamanism.
