Explanation:

The range is all the allowed output values on the y-axis.
We may hence substitute every input x value in the domain into the function to find the corresponding output y value and thus obtain the range of the function.

#f(2)=17,f(-1)=2,f(0)=1,f(1)=2,f(3)=10#

Hence the range is #{1,2,10,17}#.

Note that this function is not one-to-one (injective) since #f(-1)=f(1)=2#
