Explanation:

A battery will not be 100% efficient as some of its energy is lost as heat. This is often referred to the battery or cell as having internal resistance. Hence although the majority of the potential energy will be transferred into electrical energy, some will be lost as heat . The law of the conservation of energy is safe.
