Turgor pressure is caused by water pushing the cell membrane against the cell wall of cells that have a cell wall (plant, bacteria, fungi etc.) Osmosis moves water into or out of cells.
Explanation:
A turgid cell has a high turgor pressure because the large amount of water inside of the cell pushes the membrane against the inside of the cell wall.
A plasmolyzed cell has a low turgor pressure because there is a low volume of water inside of the cell.
This video explains why and how water moves into or out of cells by the process of osmosis.
Hope this helps!
