The solution is x=3x=3.

Explanation:

Bring all the quantities with x on one side of the == and the others on the other side remembering that the "jump" of the == changes the sign.

0.06x+0.24-0.02x=0.360.06x+0.240.02x=0.36
0.06x-0.02x=0.36-0.240.06x0.02x=0.360.24

Now, on the left side we sum the numbers in front of the xx and on the right we sum the numbers.

(0.06-0.02)x=0.36-0.24(0.060.02)x=0.360.24

0.04x=0.120.04x=0.12

Finally we divide both sides for the number in front of xx in order to cancel it and leave the xx alone

0.04/0.04x=0.12/0.040.040.04x=0.120.04
x=0.12/0.04x=0.120.04
x=3x=3.
