Explanation:
Vaginal epithelium is stratified. Vaginal mucus secretes glycogen. Lactobacillus in vagina breaks down glycogen to lactic acid.
Lactic acid makes vagina acidic. This prevents infections.
If there are bacterial infections in vagina its pH changes.
