Titrations reactions mixture must be (i) rapid; (ii) quantifiable by means of an easily observed end-point; (iii) have known and definite stoichiometry.

Explanation:

The list is certainly not exhaustive. and of course we might, for instance, work around a slow reaction by adding an excess of titrant, and back-titrating the excess after the reaction has completed. Certainly simple(?) acid/base titrations, which we all perform at A level, fulfil these criteria. Very accurate and precise measurements may be made.

At university level, students are introduced to complexometric, redox, and precipitation titrations, in which the listed features are also apparent.
