#m=-5# and #y#-intercept #=b=1#

Explanation:

#y=-5x+1# is the equation of a specific straight line.

The equation of any line is #color (red) (y=mx+b)#

All I did was to compare #y=mx+b# and #y=-5x+1#

You can clearly see that #m=-5# and #b=1#

This is the easiest way to do this example but there is another way, when you don't know what the general equation of a straight line looks like.
All you have to do is to plug two values for #x# and find #y# or vice-versa, find the slope with #m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)# then graph the line and check where it touches the #y#-axis (that is your #b#)

Let me know if you have any question or would like to see what I just wrote :)

Hope this helps :)
