How do blue whales defend themselves against predators?

Blue whales are huge and gentle. There is no known natural predator, though there are reports of killer whales attacking sole blue whale, which is rare and may be an aberration.

An annoyed blue whale can cause considerable damage only by slapping the tail on water.

May be the most ferocious predator of blue whale was human species. Few lakhs of them were killed before hunting of blue whale became banned in 1966.
