How do you find the x and y intercepts of #g(x)=0.5x-3#?

To find the #x#- intercept, we set #y=0# and solve for #x#:
#0=.5x-3#
#3=.5x#
#6=x#

So. the #x#-intercept is #(6, 0)#

To find the #y#-intercept, it's a similar system We set #x=0# and solve for #y# this time.
#y=.5*0-3#
#y=-3#
That was easy :)

So, our #y#-intercept is #(0, -3)#

Just to double check our work, let's graph the equation and see the #x# and #y# intercepts
