The force applied against a moving object travelling on a linear path is given by #F(x)= sinx + 1 #. How much work would it take to move the object over #x in [ 0,pi/4 ] #?

The question is incorrectly stated. The work done by that force over the given path would be:

#W = int_0^(pi/4) sin x + 1 dx approx 1.08 " J"#

It is entirely possible that the object could be moved by a different force with a different amount of work being done on it.
