And when amide ion acts as an acid it gives the imide ion, #NH^(2-)#, and when this species acts as an acid it gives the nitride ion, #N^(3-)#. Of course the conjugate BASES of ammonia are UNKNOWN in water, but are known in liquid ammonia.
