Ther is no net macroscopic chemical change.

Explanation:

The salt and the acid simply speciate in aqueous solution, i.e.

#NaNO_3(aq) + HCl(aq) stackrel(H_2O)rarr Na^+ + NO_3^(-) +H^+ + Cl^-#

You can write the metathesis reactions if you like but there is neither a precipitate nor neutralization. We represent the #"protium ion"# as #H^+#, and we could equally represent it as the #"hydronium ion"#, #H_3O^+#. We use these as shorthands to represent the acidium species in solution, which is probably a cluster of 3-4 water molecules, WITH AN EXTRA #H^+# ion, i.e. #H_7O_3^+# or #H_9O_4^+#....The extra protons exchanges rapidly, tunnels if you like, between different water clusters.
