h=#1.020xx10^-4m#

Explanation:

Potential energy of a body directly depends on the product of mass and height .

#P alpha m*h#

Where P denotes the potential energy of a body with mass m and at a height h above the ground .

We should include a proportionality constant to make a perfect relation for potential energy .

And the proportionality constant is g ( acceleration due to gravity )

It differs from place to place but there is only a very very small difference (reference to earth ) so the differences can be omitted.

But there will be a huge difference between the 'g' value of earth
and 'g' value of other planets.

Finally we got the potential energy relation as

#P=mgh#

For earth the value of 'g' is #9.8 ms^-2#

Now get into the problem

mass m=1000 kg

P=1 j

Putting the known values in the above relation for potential energy we get,
#1=1000xx9.8xxh#

#h=1/(1000xx9.8)#

#h=1.020xx10^-4 m#

The height is very much small (i,e)., it is almost on the ground .
