Given:

#(2x+1)(2x+3) = -2x(2x+1)#

Note that if #x=-1/2# then #(2x+1) = 0# and both sides of the equation are zero. So #x=-1/2# is one solution.

If #x != -1/2# then #(2x+1) != 0#. Divide both sides of the equation by #(2x+1)# to get:

#2x+3 = -2x#

Add #2x-3# to both sides to get:
