The question states we have a "ball", or sphere, so we may calculate the volume,

#V = (4pir^3)/3#

#V = (4pi*((45.0mm)*(cm)/(10mm))^3)/3 approx 382cm^3#

From here, we may calculate density. Hence,

#(300g)/(382cm^3) approx (0.786g)/(cm^3)#

is the density of iron in this case, although this is a gross underestimation.
