Why does the United States need to find alternative-energy sources?

Energy is necessary for the present lifestyles of the American people.

Explanation:

1. Americans use more energy per person than any other culture in the world .

2. Coal though abundant in the United States causes pollution and strip mining and abandoned mines create economical damage to the environment.

3. Burning Oil and Natural Gas emit large amounts of Carbon Dioxide `CO_2` which contributes to increasing levels of Green House gases.

4. Fossils fuels are non renewable resources fracking and recovery of this sources has improved supply but at some point these resources will run out.

5. If alternative sources of energy are not found America culture will have to change drastically to adjust to much lower levels of available energy.
