Ligaments join one bone to another bone, while tendons connect muscle to bone.

Explanation:

Both tendons and ligaments are made of collagen and are found in the skeletal system of the human body.

Tendon is a tough band of fibrous connective tissue, that usually connects muscle to bone and is capable of withstanding tension. Traditionally tendons have been considered to be a mechanism by which muscles connect to bone, functioning to transmit forces. Some tendons have the ability to function as springs.

Ligament is the fibrous connective tissue that connects bone to other bones. Some ligaments limit the mobility of articulations or prevent certain movements altogether. Ligaments gradually strain when under tension and return to their original shape when the tension is removed.
