The 2 solutions are #x = -2 and x = -3#.

Explanation:

Get everything on one side of the equal sign.

#x^2 +5x +6 = 0#

Now factor.

#(x + 2)*(x+3) = 0#

The left side will equal zero when either of the 2 factors equal zero. so the 2 solutions are found as follows:

#x + 2 = 0 " therefore " x = -2#

#x + 3 = 0 " therefore " x = -3#

I hope this helps,
