The 2p subshell can hold as many as 6 electrons, but will not always be full.
Boron has only 1 electron in 2p
Carbon has 2 electrons in 2p
Nitrogen has 3
Oxygen has 4
Fluorine has 5
Neon has 6
Larger atoms will have a filled 2p sublevel for their ground state electron configurations.
