most of the places you will see the answer is NO but it is leakage which occurs in negligible amount.


#Na^+# having high difference in the concentration across membrane result in movement of #Na^+# through simple diffusion but there is a small leakage which can occur sometime.

but they are not at all moved in high amount till the specific channels are opened and used by the cell to transport #Na^+# from extracellular membrane to cytoplasm of cell or the other way around.
