10 years or so after Planck, and 5 years after the annus mirabilis, Rutherford started the "planetary motion" paradigm, as opposed to the plum-pudding Thompson model. A few years later, Bohr postulated allowed-energy orbits, as the Rutherford atom disintegrates almost instantaneously.
