# Will "rubidium acetate" give a neutral, acidic, or basic solution upon dissolution in water?

$\text{Rubidium acetate}$ is the alkali metal salt of a weak acid.....
${H}_{3} C - C {O}_{2}^{-} + {H}_{2} O \left(l\right) r i g h t \le f t h a r p \infty n s {H}_{3} C - C {O}_{2} H + H {O}^{-}$
Given a $p {K}_{a}$ for acetic acid (which I think is $4.76$) you could quantify this expression. Anyway an aqueous solution of rubidium acetate will be slightly basic given the hydrolysis reaction.
