# If f(x) is an even function passing through (2,5) then what other point must it pass through?

If $f \left(x\right)$ is an even function including the point $\left(2 , 5\right)$ then it will also include the point $\left(- 2 , 5\right)$...
• To say that $f \left(x\right)$ is an even function is to say that for any $x$ in its domain $f \left(- x\right) = f \left(x\right)$.
• To say that $\left(2 , 5\right)$ is a point on the graph of $f \left(x\right)$ is to say that $f \left(2\right) = 5$.
Hence we can deduce that $f \left(- 2\right) = 5$ and $\left(- 2 , 5\right)$ is also a point on the graph of $f \left(x\right)$.
