You do not identify aromatic compounds from their IR spectra.

Explanation:

An IR spectrum allows you to confirm identity of a known organic compound. It does not allow you to identify a compound #"a priori"#.

How do you indentify an unknown organic species? Well, first you get its melting point, or boiling point. Get an idea of its functional groups, halide, alcohol, carboxyl, amine, etc. then make a few crystalline derivatives, and then compare your experimental melting points with the literature, which is extensive, and there are handbooks expressly devoted for this purpose.
