# Question #f41af

$y = 4 x + 23$

After seeing Jim's solution I did a quick search and found this is the 'slope intercept form'

As per Jim's format we have

$4 x - y = - 23$

#### Explanation:

This is a variant on the straight line equation of standardised form:
$y = m x + c$

Multiply everything inside the brackets by 4

$y - 7 = 4 x + 16$

Add $\textcolor{red}{7}$ to both sides

$\textcolor{g r e e n}{y - 7 \textcolor{red}{+ 7} = 4 x + 16 \textcolor{red}{+ 7}}$

but $- 7 + 7 = 0$

$y + 0 = 4 x + 23$

$y = 4 x + 23$
