Temperature increases the proportion of molecules with kinetic energies greater than the activation energy threshold needed to undergo the reaction.

Catalysts lower the activation energy of the reaction and hence increase the reaction's rate, changing its mechanism in the process.

Higher concentrations of reactants/products won't necessarily affect #k_(f)# or #k_r#.
