so it travels the distance (5pi)/12-pi/3=pi/12;

Area of the Circle=pir^2=49pi
or
r^2=49

r=sqrt49
or
r=7
Circumference of the circle=2pir=2(pi)(7)=44
Therefore Length of the chord=44/24=1.84
