We ASSUME that is displaces $1.75 \cdot L$ of water.
And thus $\rho = \frac{12 \cdot k g}{1.75 \cdot L} = 6.86 \cdot k g \cdot {L}^{-} 1 = 6.86 \cdot g \cdot m {L}^{-} 1$.
