An object in static equilibrium has a coefficient of static friction as 0.110. If the normal force acting on the object is 95.0 newtons, what is the mass of the object?

1 Answer

If the object of mass m lies on horizontal surface then its weight mg is the normal reaction n.

So n=mg

where

n->"normal reaction"=95N

m->"mass of the object"=?

g->"acceleration due to gravity"=9.8ms^-2

So m=n/g=95/9.8=9.69kg
