Considering the following, which state or states is the substance after this time?

A substance has a melting point of 114°C and boiling point of 79°°C. Some of the substance is placed in a container that is then sealed. The substance and the sealed container are kept at a temperature of 60°C for several hours.

I assume your melting point is -114C..otherwise mp is higher than boiling point.

Explanation:

At 60C, your substance will be a liquid (it is still lower than the the boiling point, and higher than the freezing/melting point). All liquids have some vapor pressure, though, so your substance will also partially be in the gas phase.

Substance will be mostly liquid with a little bit as gas.
