Given the piecewise function #f(x) = {2x + 1,x < -3 and 4x + 1, x ≥ -3}#, how do you graph it?

Start by graphing the graph of #y = 2x + 1#, but only on #(-oo, -3)#. That's to say there will be a hole at #(-3, -5)#.

Now draw the graph of #y = 4x + 1# on #x ≥ -3#. You may include the point #(-3, -11)# in your graph.

There should be a hole at the far right hand side of the red line.

Hopefully this helps!
