Aerial traveling hormones is used by many annimals to transmit information to conspecifis or other spicies, they are chemicals that are volatils and are get like a smell would be.

Insects and spider ( among many others ) used this type of hormones called pheromones to warn of their locations and to find mate to reproduce.
