How can you isolate nuclei from cells?

When we want to isolate a nucleus from a cell then we talk about the process of enucleation.
For the process you need: a microscope, a suction pipette and a glass needle

Explanation:

This process is mostly used with oocytes, female egg cells.

  1. step
    We use a suction pipette (B) to hold the egg cell (A) and a glass needle (C) to remove the nucleus form the cell.

    We push the glass needle through the zona pellucida that surrounds the egg cell. On the picture the glass needle is in the process of removing the nucleus.
