How do chromatin and chromosomes relate to dna?

In normal conditions , inside the nucelus DNA is present in the form of fine thread like structures called Chromatin , this is bcoz in normal conditions the amount of water in the nucleus is high so the dna is in the form of filaments.
While just before the cell division , chromatin looses water ( Condensation ) and forms Chromosome.
