Given -

$y=x^2+4x-5$

To find the x-intercept, put $y = 0$

Then

$x^2+4x-5=0$

$x^2-x+5x-5=0$

$x(x-1)+5(x-1)=0$

$(x-1)(x+5)=0$

$x-1=0$

$x=1$

x- intercept $(1, 0)$

$x+5=0$

$x=-5$
x-intercept $(-5, 0)$
