Volcanic eruptions emit toxic gases and fine particles that cause air pollution.
Explanation:
Volcanic eruptions release sulfur gases. These gases combine with the water vapor released by the eruption and the water vapor in the atmosphere to form sulfurous and sulfuric acid. This form a vog a toxic mixture of water and acid that is very harmful to people who breath the mixture.
Volcanic ash is also released into the environment. Mt St Helen released so much ash that the farmers in the Northwest were not able to grow crops that summer.
The fine particles and gases released by volcanic eruptions cause air pollution.
