According to the quotient rule:

#y'=-((1+x^2)d/dx[1]-1d/dx[1+x^2])/(1+x^2)^2#

Find each derivative.

#d/dx[1]=0#

#d/dx[1+x^2]=2x#

Plug both back in.

#y'=-((1+x^2)(0)-1(2x))/(1+x^2)^2#
