How do you determine the density from a graph of volume and mass?
From the slope of the line with mass on the y axis and volume on the x axis
Density is Mass over Volume
So if you graph Mass = y and Volume = x
The Slope is the average Density
This is a great way of determining Density.
A fun experiment is to have students find the mass and volume of different numbers of pennies ( which vary in mass density) . Then graph the results to find an average density.
