# How do you find the slope and y intercept for 3x + 2y = 10?

Jun 5, 2015

The equation of a line having a slope m and y-intercept c is represented by :
$y = m x + c$ --------------(1)

we have, 3x+2y=10

$\implies$2y=10-3x
y=(10-3x)/2
$y = 5 - \left(\frac{3}{2}\right) x$

on comparing the above equation with (1)
m=-3/2
c=5
