# How do you find the slope and y-intercept given 9x+y=8?

Sep 4, 2015

Easiest is to convert to a $y = m x + b$ form
Subtract $9 x$ from both sides:
$y = - 9 x + 8$
And then $9$ is the slope and $\left(0 , 8\right)$ is the $y$-intercept
