How do you graph and list the amplitude, period, phase shift for y=sin(x-pi)-1?

Nov 27, 2017

We can rewrite as

$y = \sin x \cos \pi - \cos x \sin \left(\pi\right) - 1$

$y = - \sin x - 1$

This is the basic sine graph reflected in the x-axis and transformed 1 unit down.

Here is the graph:

The amplitude is $1$, the phase shift is $0$ and the period is $2 \pi$.

Hopefully this helps!
