You should separate them into two, you must use FOIL, (first, outside, inside, last)

#(4x^2-4x+4)(4x^2-4x+4)#

#(4x^2*4x^2)+ (4x^2* -4x)+(4x^2*4)+(-4x*4x^2)+(-4x*-4x) + (-4x*4) + (4*4x^2)+(4*-4x)+(4*4)#
