How do you multiply (p-10)^2?

Jul 22, 2016

${p}^{2} - 20 p + 100$

Explanation:

Rewrite as

$\left(p - 10\right) \left(p - 10\right)$

Foil the bracket:

$p \cdot p - 10 p - 10 p + 100$

$\therefore {p}^{2} - 20 p + 100$

You could also do it with Pascal's triangle/Binomial theorem but for an exponent of 2 that's fairly unnecessary.
