To normalize a vector you just divide each axis modulus with its norm hence

$u_(norm)=u/absu$

where $u=(3,2,-6)$ and $absu=sqrt(3^2+2^2+(-6)^2)=7$

so the normal vector is

$u_(norm)=(3/7,2/7,-6/7)$
