How do you round 8,265 to the nearest hundred?

When rounding numbers there are normally only two important numbers. First the number the you are rounding, the question asks for rounding to the nearest hundred so we must look at the hundreds place first. There is currently a 2 (two) in the hundreds place so it will either stay the same or go up to 3(three).
Now the second number is the number to the right one space in the tens place, that is currently a 6 (six). When rounding if the number is greater than 5 (five) we round up making the 2 (two) into a 3 (three).
