$\left({x}^{2} - 9\right) = \left(x + 3\right) \left(x - 3\right)$ and $\frac{5}{x - 3} = 5 \frac{x + 3}{\left(x - 3\right) \left(x + 3\right)} = \frac{5 x + 15}{{x}^{2} - 9}$
