it can be written as ;

$-1 ( 1 + 7x) -6 ( 7-x) =36$

$-1*1 + (-1) 7x -6*7 -6*(-x)= 36$

$-1 + -7x -42 + 6x =36$

$-1 -42 -7x +6x = 36$

$-43-x = 36$

adding $43$ to both sides

$-43 + 43 -x = 36 +43$

$-x = 79$

dividing both sides by -1 to get the value of $x$ ;

$(-x) /-1 = 79 /-1$

x = -79
